SANTA BARBARA, CA – May 2005 – Optronics®, a manufacturer of easy-to-use advanced scientific grade CCD cameras for microscopy, announces the release of a new line of cost effective megapixel cameras designed for a wide variety of scientific and industrial imaging applications. The new 3.3MPX and 20MPX cameras are developed by the ImagingPlanet® Research Microscopy Group™.
The 3.3MPX™ is a high-quality color microscope camera with 3.3 megapixel resolution and on-board image processing. The Sony CCD delivers outstanding image quality for a wide variety of scientific applications including brightfield, darkfield and fluorescent imaging applications.
The 20MPX™ offers 21-megapixel resolution achieved through shifting a native 1280x1024 pixel array. The 20MPX offers the flexibility to choose between 1.3 up to 21-million pixel resolution. This technology is designed to take full advantage of microscope optics in capturing precise detail. The increase in image resolution and color accuracy provides superior image information across multiple microscope disciplines including clinical, life science, and industrial applications.
Both cameras offer an intuitive user interface that provides full camera control with live video preview for real-time framing and focus. Twain drivers provide instantaneous integration within popular image analysis and image processing applications. The high speed USB2 interface eliminates a frame grabber card and facilitates ease of installation on both laptop and desktop computers.
During the initial product launch of the 3.3MPX and 20MPX cameras, Optronics is offering i-Solution, a comprehensive 3rd party image analysis package with special introductory pricing. The i-Solution image analysis package offers embedded camera drivers and a wide range of image analysis features including live measurement, counting, statistical analysis, 3D modeling and report generation.
