TESCAN, s.r.o. is proud to announce that the first Turbo Pumped Cryo Preparation System PP2000T by Quorum Technologies Ltd. has been installed on Tescan VEGALMU SEM.
Quorum Technologies Ltd. say in their report:
"This was the first time we had installed onto a Tescan and were very impressed by its suitability for cryo-SEM. The chamber is well provided with ports (especially important if the SEM already has several auxiliary items attached) and we liked the imaging. Often is it useful to view the cold sample directly in the SEM - prior to fracturing, etching or coating - and the SEM performed well under low current / voltage conditions. The "fisheye" image was very useful as it enabled us to see the entire SEM stage at x 4 -
something that is very useful but not possible with most SEMs."

About the PP2000T
PolarPrep PP2000 and PP2000T is a dedicated fully integrated cryo preparation
systems that fit most SEMs. The standard PolarPrep PP2000 system utilises a single rotary pump to evacuate the preparation chamber and sample transfer air-lock. To achieve the lowest levels of contamination
and vacuum compatibility required by modern Field Emission SEM, the PolarPrep PP2000T is fitted with a purpose built turbomolecular pumping system to ensure clean, vibration free operation.

About the Tescan's LMU
The LMU is one of Tescan's new second generation VEGA-II Variable Pressure SEMs. The VEGA-II models include a host of new innovations such as the Wide Field Optics(TM) electron optical design, Tescan's
new patented LVSTD low vacuum secondary electron detector, and the integrated BackChannel Diagnostics system. The VEGA-II LMU model is ideally suited to CryoSEM applications, with high resolution imaging
down to accelerating voltages as low as 200V and a research-grade multi-ported specimen chamber with dedicated ports for Cryo-preparation and transfer systems.
